Hydration plays a key role in athlete performance and health. During training, large amounts of water can be lost and the protocol used to hydrate the athlete has a significant effect on dehydration. Objective: The objective of the present study was to evaluate the ingestion and water loss in high-intensity futsal athletes during high-intensity training, as well as the body effects caused by dehydration. Methodology: 17 high-income futsal athletes from the city of Matelândia-PR, participants of the men's championship, aged between 16 and 35, were recruited. Results: After being submitted to high intensity activities the futsal athletes managed to maintain a good performance, and didn`t obtain a great water loss in the protocol with controlled isotonic, confirming, therefore, what the literature states, that this is the best way of hydration for acyclic sports athletes. CONCLUSION: Adequate hydration is one of the best ways to avoid falling athletic performance and does not affect the hydration status of high-performance futsal athletes.
