The article describes the experience of the use of learning strategies as an essential aspect that contributes to the development of the autonomy of teachers in Foreign Language training at the University of Las Tunas. Therefore, some theoretical considerations about the strategies to learn to learn are included. These, are assumed as a transcendental element in a teaching-learning process of foreign languages, which according to the current trends in the teaching learning of Foreign Languages autonomy is a key pillar. In keeping with this, this perspective reveals that students have a greater variety of options about their own learning, both in terms of the content of learning and the processes they can use to achieve it.
