HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG DBD DENGAN PERILAKU PENCEGAHAN DBD PADA BALITA DI PUSKESMAS PAAL MERAH 1 KOTA JAMBI

Background : According to the World Health Organization estimated world population at risk of dengue disease reaches 2.5-3 billion, particularly those living in urban areas in tropical and subtropical countries. Right now there are an estimated 50 million dengue infections that occur worldwide each year. It is estimated to Southeast Asia there are 100 million cases of dengue fever (DD) and 500,000 cases of DHF requiring hospitalization, and 90% of sufferers are children aged less than 15 years. Methods : This type of research is an analytic study with cross sectional design. Where the research was conducted in Puskesmas Paal I Jambi and research has been conducted in September 2014. The sample was selected by accidental sampling technique as many as 84 people. Collecting data in this study by means of questionnaires using a questionnaire. Univariate data were analyzed and bivariate analysis performed with chi-squere. Result : A total of 28 respondents (33.3%) had good knowledge, as many as 38 respondents (45.2%) have sufficient knowledge and as many as 18 respondents (21.4%) had poor knowledge about prevention of dengue fever in infants. A total of 34 respondents (40.5%) to prevent dengue fever in infants is well, and as many as 50 respondents (59.5%) to prevent dengue fever in infants less well. The relationship between mother's knowledge about the prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever in infants in the Work Area Health Center Red Paal I Jambi with p value 0.006. Conclusion : It is expected that health workers do health education on prevention of dengue fever in infants so that knowledge can be applied to get the respondent and the prevention of dengue fever in HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG DBD DENGAN PERILAKU PENCEGAHAN DBD PADA BALITA DI PUSKESMAS PAAL MERAH 1 KOTA JAMBI
