This research aims to analyze the behavior of the allocation of resources for the financing of education, by the state of Rio Grande do Sul, from 2008 to 2017. A descriptive research was developed, through a quantitative approach. It was concluded that the transfers to finance education are increasing until the year 2015, while in the years 2016 and 2017 there are reductions, such variations were not proportional to the growth or decrease in the total collection or taxes.
