Fournier's syndrome, also known as perineal necrotic fasciitis, is a serious infectious pathology of the soft tissues, affecting the genital region and adjacent areas, characterized by tissue destruction, being more frequent in men between the 2nd and 6th decade, and may also affect young people and women. Its rapid progression can lead to death if not diagnosed early and immediate care is stipulated. It is a serious condition that requires broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy, early and aggressive surgical debridement, and may even require psychological monitoring. The aim of the present study was to assess the relationship with mortality and the success of early diagnosis and treatment. The lethality rate is related to the area of dissemination, as well as diagnosis and period of initiation of treatment, obtaining more success in patients diagnosed early and with therapeutic measures adopted immediately.
