In recent years, several studies have shown that Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA), in addition to being a biocompatible material, which promotes an adequate marginal seal, preventing infiltrations, has an antimicrobial effect and favors bone repair. Thus, it has been used in various clinical situations such as sealing root perforations, retrobutations, direct pulp protection, pulpotomy, apical plug in incomplete rhizogenesis, root canal filling, cervical plug in internal tooth whitening, root fracture repair, etc. The objective of this study is to report a clinical case of a patient with teeth with periapical lesions where an apectectomy was performed using MTA as retrofilling material. Key word: Mineral trioxide aggregate; Endodontics; endodontic material, periapical surgery.
