Students are the key players in the Distance Education system. Autonomously, mediated or in collaboration, they seek knowledge from a computer screen, in a path characterized by its pros and cons. Thinking about this role of the students, the present study used their opinions to evaluate the education acquired at a distance. The qualitative and quantitative research carried out through a questionnaire points out that students evaluate teachers' technical knowledge and interaction promoted by tutors as good; whereas they disagree on promoting interpersonal relationships, among others. The students' opinions are interesting in the monitoring and improvement of distance education degree programs and can be taken as a strategic and operational control tool aiming at monitoring actions for possible corrections and directions.
