The textile laundries generally release effluents that contaminate water sources and how they can deal with this negative environmental externality? The objective of this study was to analyze the economic viability of textile laundries Polo Clothing Wasteland Pernambucano they consider the addition of environmental costs. 33 textile laundries jeans, in which two hypotheses were tested were surveyed. The first hypothesis tested is the existence of economic viability of textile laundries, with the addition of internal environmental costs. The second hypothesis tests whether laundries that do not have water treatment plant could be economically viable with the addition of external environmental costs. Both hypotheses were supported, with both proven by Student's t test. Then a discounted payback, considering the SELIC rate, 2013, in an attempt to prove that it is possible to install a water treatment plant for dry cleaners that do not have this environmental asset was held. Only two laundries among the six tested did not show a return on investment within a specified period of five years. We conclude that it is possible to add the environmental costs laundries, and still be economically viable, because this implies adding only 4% of gross sales.
