Planejamento estratégico para implantação de programa de educação ambiental em uma área verde urbana

The presence of green areas located in urban centers has an important socio-environmental role. The maintenance and conservation of these areas are strategic for environmental sustainability and improvement of the quality of life in the urban environment. In this way, the objective of this study is to propose an Environmental Education program for the municipal park Antenor Martins (Dourados, MS) based on the survey of the positive and negative aspects of it. Data were collected using the SWOT method, which helps identify the main forces, opportunities, weaknesses and threats to park planning and management from the perspective of researchers, users and visitors. Through the survey it was also possible to punctuate the degree of importance of each item pointed out and propose strategic actions. The results indicated a balance in the score between strengths and weaknesses, making it a favorable framework for mitigating threats and optimizing opportunities. The main elements identified in the analysis were related to solid waste management, accessibility and protection of the park's natural and scenic resources. These elements were fundamental for the elaboration of an Environmental Education Program with a diversified agenda of activities, schedules and collaborators, coming together to mitigate identified weaknesses and threats and engagement of opportunities and strengths presented.
