Recent excavations at the late Neolithic site of Tell Sabi Abyad in northern Syria have yielded hundreds of clay sealings in well-defined contexts. It is argued that these sealings facilitated the communal storage at the site of all kinds of products and claims by a nomadic population of considerable size. In this respect, the sealings are indicative of the symbiosis between the sedentary and nomadic populations in the Late Neolithic. Akkermans Peter M. M. G., Duistermaat Kim.
