During the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth century, the relationship between prose and poetry is questioned in terms of a divergence between the « tyranny » of French versification, and what is felt to be «poetical ». The response was the invention of poetic prose ; then prose entered poetry with the prose poem. Close analysis reveals it to maintain, in its very form, the original « spleen » about poetry's poetry which led to poetic prose.Vincent-Munnia Nathalie.
