Les Siwaliks du Népal central : Structure et géomorphologie d'un piédmont en cours de déformation (The central nepalese siwaliks : structure and geomorphology of an upheaveling piedmont)

. - The différenciation of the Siwaliks' geomorphological units, in the Central Nepal, is closely related to their piedmont's strains and to the fact that folded structures are leaning over southwards. The northern reliefs are the older ones ; their southern slopes were truncated by these erosion processus that are common on pediments. It is asserted that the tectonic strains and deformations are still going on and that the southern folded structures are overthrusted on the Terai recent Quaternary deposits.Résumé. - Les ensembles géomorphostructuraux composant les Siwaliks du Népal central sont directement liés à la déformation du piémont et au déversement des structures vers le sud. Les reliefs situés au nord sont les plus anciens. Leur versant sud a été érodé par des phénomènes de glaciplanation. La déformation serait toujours active et les structures méridionales chevaucheraient le Quaternaire récent du Teraï.Hérail Gérard, Mascle Georges.
