Literature is one of the means that a person uses to express what he has in mind, including thoughts, feelings, and a spiritual space that he uses in search of experiences that mimic his life experiences. In Arab literature there are elements and components that underpin and in its entirety this art, and the novel is formed from the arts that contain many elements without which the novel loses its value and its ability to communicate ideas. The novel (Candies of Burgess) by Salem Saleh Sultan is one of the conductive narratives that abounds in many coherent artistic aspects, including (description, dialogue, and personality), and this has made it a wide field for interesting and accurate research. The writer has made the city of (Mosul) a place for the events of his novel, and made the war that Iraq witnessed after the year (2003) a time for the conduct of these events. The various elements of the novel, especially the characters, were mostly simple socially and culturally.
