This study examines the occurrence of adverse events related to drugs in units of Pediatrics. Such an approach is justified by the peculiar attention that nursing care in pediatrics requires from health professionals mainly in hospitals aiming at reducing these events. The aim of this study is to identify the occurrence of adverse events related to medications that enables the creation of prevention to these facts. This purpose will be achieved through literature review based mainly on articles in scientific obtained through database SCIELO, BIREME and Google Scholar. The study showed that for pediatric patients who are more likely to the occurrence of these events is necessary to use these technologies to prevent errors such as computerized prescription and standardization of medications. Yet it was evident the important role of nurses in the care and with the awareness of the multidisciplinary team in preventing these errors creating greater safety for patients process. Also in this context it is worth mentioning the importance of reporting adverse events that still have a low adherence by professionals due to the punitive role such reporting can result within institutions.
