Certain social and common human values characteristic of sports activities allow one to estimate them positively, whereas using dope in sport makes one start questioning these positive aspects of sports activities and is, undoubtedly, detrimental to the very image of sport. Presently dope, as one of the forms of fraud in sport, serves as the subjects of ever wider discussions. The aim of the research was to study the attitude of would-be sport pedagogues to dope usage in presentday sport. Organization of the research. In the spring of the year 2005 questionnaires of half-closed type consisting of 22 questions were fi lled in by 88 (32 girls and 56 boys) would-be sport pedagogues, 4th-year students of the Sport Technologies and Tourism Faculty of the Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education. There were 13 open-type and 9 closed-type questions. 7 questions were meant to establish socialdemographic characteristics of the respondents. 2 questions contained 34 propositions revealing the informativeness of the respondents concerning dope usage and the possibilities of applying pedagogical preventive means. The respondents had a free choice of one reply out of the four variants suggested, namely: “agree completely”, “agree”, “can give no reply”, “do not agree” and “do not agree categorically”. 4 questions were meant to fi nd out the opinion of the respondents as to prevalence of dope usage in Lithuania and throughout the world. 9 questions were meant for students engaged in sports with a view to establishing instances of dope usage in sports environment of students of the LAPE.
