This article describes an innovative structural solution consisting of a “Skelsion” type structure formed of prestressed steel frames. It is an unconventional alternative in industrial architecture and represents a very interesting solution both structurally and aesthetically due to its slenderness and lightweight structure being also a rather competitive economic solution. The design of the structural geometry was carried out by an iterative process considering the interactions between the different prestressed elements as well as the construction sequence. The result provides the required stiffness to the structure to resist all the forces applied thanks to the prestressed bracing system. An aestethically interesting building is also achieved.
