The subgenus Brachylimnophila Alexander, 1966 is transferred from Neo— limnomyia Séguy, 1937 inDicranoplzragma Osten Sacken, 1860. The latter is elevated to genus rank. Three European species are redescribed, viz. Dicrano— phragma (Brachylimnophila) nemorale (Meigen, 1818), comb. n., D. (B.) sepa— ratum (Walker, 1848), comb. n. andD. (B.) adjunctum (Walker, 1848), comb. n. Lectotypes ofD. (B.) separatum and D. (B.) adjunctum are designated.
