A utilização da estimulação elétrica nervosa transcutânea após cirurgias cardíacas

The aim of this study was to review the literature about the use of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) after cardiac surgeries. Twelve reports with different methods and results for analgesic effect, opioid consumption and postoperative pulmonary complication were encountered. Therapeutic parameters and methods standardization are needed to correctly evaluate this therapeutic technique. A therapeutic parameter group is suggested at the end of this review.
