Causas do absenteísmo na enfermagem: análise de produções científicas

Causes of absenteeism in nursing: analysis of scientific productions Absenteeism is the practice or habit of being absent from work due to scheduled or unscheduled absences, becoming a major problem for public organizations and their managers. The aim of this study was to search in scientific articles the causes of nursing team absenteeism in the Brazilian Health Services. A literature review was conductedin the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and selected 11 articles for discussion elaboration. After analysis we created four categories: main causes of nursing team absenteeism, major diseases that affect nursing professionals, absenteeism rates in nursing teams of Brazilian Healthcare Services and consequences generated by absenteeism. We conclude that adaptive strategies should be implemented to promote improvement in quality of life in service for employees, in order to satisfy the work activity, and hence increase the quality of care provided by this professional.
