Nurse experience on peripherally inserted central catheter in a neonatology service The peripherally inserted central catheter (PiCC) is a technology intravenous therapy that ensures new-born survival, and also is a highly skilled procedure that is performed by a registered nurse. This professional has the option of selection of catheter insertion site, maintenance and efficient and safe removal. The study aimed at identifying the experiences of nurses working in neonatology in relation to the PiCC. This is a descriptive qualitative research which used a semi-structured interview as a tool for data collection. The study was conducted in the Neonatal intensive Care Unit of the Hospital Universitário Neonatal Clemente de Faria Montes Claros-MG, with seven nurses who work in neonatal unit of the Recebido em 16 de setembro de 2014; aceito em 2 de outubro de 2014.
