Since the Ottoman State was the most powerful Islamic state of the time and the caliph of Sunni Muslims, the Uzbek Khanates have asked for help from the Ottoman State in mainly political, military, religious, industrial, etc. issues. Between the years 1514-1873, all the three Uzbek Khanates sent embassy delegations to Istanbul in order to provide the support of the Ottoman State. The embassy delegations which arrived to the Ottoman State, first reported their devotion to the Ottoman sultan and then, they requested from the sultan that their political, military, religious and industrial demands be fulfilled. The Ottoman State initially supported the political demands of the Uzbek Khanates, however, cautiously approached in the later periods, due to the damage of the Muslim community by influencing the struggle between Turkestan Khanates, and in the further periods, due to concerns about disrupting peace with Russia. Ottoman State tried to fulfill other demands in military, religious, industrial areas, however, has not been able to fully realize this because of the distance to the Uzbek Khanates and the distress of foreign policy.
