Guðfraeðingar (A. Porterfield, G. Wingren) hafa haldið þvi fram að i lutherskri guðfraeði hafi, þratt fyrir að þar se logð ahersla a mikilvaegi skopunarinnar, ekki verið fjallað um laekningu likamans. I greininni er rýnt i þessar staðhaefingar og rokin fyrir þeim og er mark-miðið að setja fram guðfraeði um likamlega laekningu ut fra luthersku sjonarhorni. Faerð eru rok fyrir þvi að slik guðfraeði verði annars vegar að byggjast a hugmyndum skopunar-guðfraeðinnar, en hins vegar a frasogum guðspjallanna af laekningaþjonustu Jesu. Við þessa nalgun er gengið ut fra þvi að laekning se fyrst og fremst takn um nalaegð og opinberun naðar Guðs, sem tengist tru en se ekki skilyrt af henni. Several scholars (A. Porterfield, G. Wingren) have suggested that Lutheran theology, despite its focus on the importance of creation, seems to lack an adequate theology for the healing of the body. This claim is here taken up, discussed and substantiated, in order to suggest a constructive theology of bodily healing from a Lutheran perspective. A Lutheran theology of bodily healing needs to be based on a doctrine of creation as well as in an understanding of the healing ministry of Jesus. This approach allows for a perspective that sees such healing as presence and revelation of God, as grace, and as related to, but not conditioned by, faith.
