The main goal of the article is to discuss the main theoretical perspectives in the study of the working class in contemporary times. Given the rich and heterogeneous analytical arsenal, we chose to indicate what we consider to be the three main perspectives that focus the definition, the profile, the challenges and the future of working class, they are: the perspectives of contention and/or stiffening, the perspectives of expansion and, finally, the schizophrenics and/or loose perspectives. At the end of article we present the approach of the plasticity of the work as possible path of analysis of the working class from the understanding of the changes observed in the work through the deepening of territorial dynamics of the capital.
