This work aims to establish critical relations and observations between the main notions of Jürgen Habermas, Frantz Fannon and Patricia Hill Collins, especially regarding the concepts of rationality, where this rationality is inserted and operates, as well as democratic procedure. The guiding problem is: what shortcomings can be pointed out in the theory of rationality and Habermas' theory of democracy from the beforementioned authors? As a main hypothesis, the situation of oppression of the black people is effectively not only social, but generates asymmetries that refer to the form of expression of rationality, which must be taken into account in the format of the democratic process. Through the bibliographical method, the objective is to explore the relationships between the authors, including pointing out the mentioned shortcomings, with the guidelines for their overcoming.
