"The aim and plan of the investigation was to determine the adequacy of the dietaries and to find out if they were planned as economically as possible. In order to do this it was necessary to collect the following data: 1. The calorie requirement of the patients. 2. The amount of food served. 3. The cost of the food served. 4. The extent to which the food selected was meeting the requirements of the body."
