Nanotechnology counts as one of the key technologies of 21st century with enormous potentials. Until now it is not very clear, which possibilities this technology actually has, it is above all a promise. But this promise didn’t emerge ‘ naturally’, it is the result of certain discourses. The promise of nanotechnology is as well the product as the tool of particular governance strategies. These strategies are investigated in different dimensions.
