The critical basis for clin-ical reasoning and decision-making is a properlyperformed, detailed physical examination combinedwith careful history taking. In this regard, good clin-ical skills are important for any medical profession,but particularly for clinical neurology, not least thesubspecialty of movement disorders. Showing videosof patients with involuntary movements consistentlyprovokesintensivedebateamongdelegatesintheaudi-ence. Importantly, such debates concentrate not onlyon the nature of the observed abnormalities, but oftenalso about the techniques used to elicit particular neu-rological symptoms (using clever questions) or signs(using specic tests or tricks).
