Reading and writing activities in the library room is a high visual activity that requires good comfort, especially room lighting. Good lighting is arranged in such a way as to conform to the standards set for library space functions. This study aims to determine whether the intensity of natural light in the library room of Faculty of Engineering Gowa Hasanuddin University has met the standards. This type of approach is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques are observation, documentation, measurement with lux meter, and questionnaire. The measurement point in this study used local measurement in the form of work table, large table, and bookshelf. The results of the study note that the work area area that receives the light distribution from the side openings with bright sky conditions in the morning and afternoon already meet the standards. The working desk area that receives the distribution of light from the openings of the building does not meet the standards of either the condition of clear skies, cloudy, and cloudy sky conditions. The alternative to getting standard lighting is to adjust the placement of furnishings and provide artificial lighting to areas that accept the distribution of light from openings over buildings.
