This report presents the results of the May 2009 baseline (pre-intervention) assessment among health care providers (HCPs) and the July 2010 pre- and post-Training of Trainers (TOT) assessments among HCPs in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Da Nang regarding the issue of quality of care for victims of gender-based violence (GBV) at health facilities in Viet Nam. As background to the presentation of the methods and findings of the two studies there is first an overview on GBV in a global perspective and in the context of Viet Nam in particular including brief descriptions of previous studies and projects on this issue and the legal position of the government of Viet Nam with regards to Domestic Violence (DV).
