L'écosystème forestier du canton de Vaud: un pays, quatre régions | The forest ecosystem in Canton Vaud: one territory, four regions

Active in the accumulation of facts concerning the environment, the canton of Vaud has available a forestry data bank which offers abundant information. The most important elements, such as geology, climate and vegetation (the phytosociological and dendrometrical bases), are described in this article. This data bank is available to the entire forestry service. The information comes from four biogeographical regions and the description of these makes it possible to impart a regional structure to the environmental references from forest management and development planning and thus facilitates deliberation and communication.
