The correlation between the vegetation cover, lithology and some physiographic factors in Iran was investigated. A region of 132 500 hectares was chosen and maps were prepared. The results obtained show that by interfacing the lithologic map with the physiographic maps, a map with a high-level correlation with the vegetation-cover map can be obtained.
