OZET: Emek-yogun bir sektor olan turizm sektorunde yer alan konaklama isletmelerinde hizmeti satin alan musteri ile hizmeti sunan calisanin ic ice, yuz yuze olmasindan dolayi isgucu ve ozellikle de is tatmini buyuk onem tasimaktadir. Cunku, konaklama isletmelerinde calisanlarin is tatmini, musterinin memnuniyeti, hizmetin kalitesi ve dolayisiyla da isletmenin basarisina dogrudan etki etmektedir. Bu cercevede arastirmanin amaci, konaklama isletmelerindeki calisanlarin is tatmininin Is Tanimlama Olcegi ile olcumu ve yas, cinsiyet, medeni durum, egitim gibi demografik degiskenlerin is tatmini uzerindeki etkilerinin incelenmesidir. Calisma sonucunda, is tatmininin yas, egitim, turizm egitimi degiskenleri bakimindan farklilasma gosterdigi saptanmistir. Anahtar kelimeler: Is tatmini, is tanimlama olcegi, otel isletmeleri. ABSTRACT: Labor and job satisfaction in particular do have great importance in the hospitality organizations within tourism sector, as a labor intensive industry, as customers receiving the service and the staff providing the service are in a face-to- face relation. Personnel's job satisfaction in the hospitality organizations has a direct impact on customer's satisfaction, service quality, and achievement of the firm. In this framework, the purpose of this study is to measure personnel's job satisfaction through Job Descriptive Index in the hospitality firms and to determine the effects of age, sex, marital status, education. Survey results indicates that these variables are related to job satisfaction. In this study, it has been found that job satisfaction levels are different with respect to age, education, tourism education variables. 1. Giris Yogun rekabetin yasandigi hizmet sektorunde, isletmelerin ayakta kalabilmeleri ve rekabet edebilmeleri, sahip olduklari kaynaklari en etkili ve verimli bicimde kullanmalarina baglidir. Hizmet sektoru icinde yer alan konaklama isletmelerinin en onemli ve degiskenligi en fazla olan kaynaklarindan birisi calisanlaridir ve calisanlarin performansi ve verimi isletmelerin basarisini etkileyen faktorlerin basinda gelmektedir. Calisanlarin yuksek performans gosterebilmeleri ve verimli bir sekilde calisabilmeleri ise, onlarin islerinden yeterince tatmin olmalarina baglidir.
