Hacia una educación más integral: soft skills y ética.

Chilean education has traditionally focused on teaching specific courses to the detriment of a more comprehensive approach that includes skills such as communication, leadership and negotiation, among others. These so-called soft skills are, at present, essential for good professional performance. This paper suggests that graduate training faces two major challenges: teaching soft skills and ethical behavior. Soft skills should be central and not accessory in a more comprehensive educational approach. Similarly, ethics should not be treated like any other academic course but instead should be imbued in all courses and be an inspiring element leading to actions with higher moral consistency
