Ongoing investigations of the quality of source water in the Cambridge, Massachusetts, drinking-water supply system will help the Cambridge Water Department (CWD) deliver high-quality drinking water at a reasonable cost. When completed, the investigations will provide the CWD with a better understanding of the sources and quantities of contaminants entering the water supply. This information will help the CWD implement costeffective watershed-management and water-quality-monitoring procedures as part of the Department’s Source Water Protection Plan.
