Systematic study of six species of <i>Arisaema</i> Mart. (Araceae) of Nepal

The genus Arisaema is represented by sixteen species in Nepal. They are distributed in sub-tropical, temperate to sub-alpine regions at an elevation ranging from 300 to 4000 m asl. The present study includes six representative species of Arisaema occurring in Nepal. The aim is to investigate the interrelationship between the taxa on the basis of morphological and anatomical evidence. The work is based on the herbarium specimens deposited at TUCH and KATH as well as personal collections of the author. Key-words : endemic species; revision; spadix; spathe; taxonomy.
