This study aims to determine whether the application of Magic Paper learning media can improve selfconfidence and learning achievement of spoken English. This study also aims to determine the advantages and disadvantages and the effectiveness of the application of learning media of Magic Paper.A Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles and each consists of two meetings. The subjects of this study are the students of class XI.IPS-3 SMA Negeri 2 Purworejo 2 Semester of the year 2016/2017 as an experimental. It is used to test the effectiveness of the application of Magic Paper learning media to the self-confidence and learning achievement in the form of English speaking skills in teaching narrative materials fable type and hortatory exposition correspond with class XI.IPS-2 as a control class. Speech is used as quantitative data collection techniques while qualitative uses observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Qualitative data analysis technique uses descriptions analysis while quantitative data uses t-test. The result of the research shows that there is a high difference of 7 or 22.58% of students in cycle I, to 24 or 77.42% of students have high confidence in cycle II. Based on the measurement result, there are improvement of English speaking skill from 31 students, 9 students or 29,03% in cycle I have not reached KKM, while 22 students or 70,97% have reached KKM in cycle II. On the second cycle 31 students or 100% of have reached KKM.
