This research aims to relate the cultural capital of college students with the skills to use the information and communication techonologies (ICT) in a public university in northwestern Mexico. The sample was made up of students from different areas of knowledge that make significant use of ICT in academic activities. Data were obtained through a survey. For data analysis they adjusted to the terms of the French sociologist Bourdieu, that analyzes the definition of cultural capital formed by a family and school capital. A measuring instrument validated to evaluate ICT skills was built and students were classified based on their social origin (cultural capital). The cluster analysis results indicate that students with cultural capital favorable characteristics have higher ICT domain and generate significant differences compared to vulnerable groups
