espanolEl objetivo principal del estudio es identificar y analizar las caidas que se producen en los mayores de 80 anos en la comunidad. Como objetivos secundarios, se plantea la definicion del tiempo promedio del Timed get Up & Go (TUG). Estudio descriptivo retrospectivo sobre pacientes mayores de 80 anos que viven solos en la comunidad y/o con un familiar de similar edad, N=219. Se recogieron todos los episodios de caidas registrados y el numero de veces que se repetia el acontecimiento desde 2009 a 2013. Del total de 219 pacientes, 104 sufrieron en total 131 caidas. Un 22.11% vuelve a caer de nuevo y el 3.80% presenta mas de tres caidas. La incidencia media por numero de pacientes/ano es 14.03%. El tiempo medio de TUG fue 14.6 segundos ± 10.4, y para los pacientes que sufrieron al menos una caida fue 18±11.5. La correlacion de Pearson del TUG con el numero de caidas resulto positiva (r=.25). La incidencia anual identificada es menor que la registrada en la bibliografia. Los resultados obtenidos en el TUG han demostrado ser predictores en el riesgo de caidas, a pesar de constatar que en el 36.23% aparecen falsos negativos. El punto de corte del TUG para nuestra cohorte corresponde a 10-12 segundos. EnglishThe main objective is to identify and analyze falls that occur in people over 80 years old who belong to community. As a secondary aims are the correlation with autonomy and the definition of average TUG time. Retrospective epidemiological study of a cohort of over 80 years old, patient living alone in the community and/or a family of similar age, N=219 subjects. All episodes of falls were picked up and the times the event was repeated from 2009 to 2013. Of the total of 219 patients, 104 suffered 131 falls. 22.11% falls again and 3.80 presented more than three falls. The average incidence of falls per year is 14.03%. The average TUG time was 14.6 seconds ± 10.4, and for patients who suffered at least one fall was 18±11.5 seconds. The Pearson correlation of the TUG with the number of falls was positive (r=.25). The annual incidence is less than that in the bibliography. The results obtained in the TUG predictors have shown risk of falling, despite appearing false negative findings at 36.23%. The TUG cutoff point for our cohort corresponds to 10-12 seconds.
