difficult and complex. In Palestine, availability of mammography units is very low. In the Gaza Strip, for example, only three mammography units serve a population of around 1,300,000 people; two of these are in private centers. Private mammography costs as much as $30 for a test a huge amount for the average Palestinian woman. One could say confidently that in general, a Palestinian woman does not have a mammography unless she already has a suspicious lump.
