In this paper we study the critical values of the pd (gas pressure × electrode distance) and breakdown voltage dependency on effective secondary emission coefficient γ. These values are calculated for different gases (H2, N2, Air, H2O, Hg, He, Ne, Ar, Kr and Xe). The critical values of the pd and breakdown voltage decreased with effective secondary emission coefficient γ for all these gases
