espanolLa produccion, el proceso y la industrializacion de la nuez mexicana son un tema de gran importancia para la economia y el desarrollo del pais (particularmente para los estados productores), asi como tambien la comercializacion y el comportamiento del mercado, local e internacional. Dado lo anterior, el principal objetivo de este documento es analizar diversos aspectos de la nuez pecanera (en adelante se referira a esta con el termino generico: nuez) en el mercado internacional como lo son la competitividad, produccion y comercializacion. Utilizando datos de la Organizacion de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentacion y la Agricultura (FAO), del Servicio de Informacion Agroalimentaria y Pesquera (SIAP), la United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) y el Instituto Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (INEGI), se obtuvieron resultados relevantes donde se identifico que los mayores compradores y socios comerciales de este producto son Mexico, Estados Unidos de America y China, siendo este ultimo el principal competidor de nuez pecanera en el mercado internacional, a pesar de que la competitividad de Mexico ha aumentado en los ultimos anos. EnglishThe production, process and industrialization of the Mexican walnut are a topic of great importance for the economy and development of the country (particularly for the producing states), as well as the commercialization and behavior of the market, local and international. Given the above, the main objective of this document is to analyze various aspects of the pecan nut (hereinafter it will be referred to with the generic term: walnut) in the international market, such as competitiveness, production and marketing. Using data from theFood and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Agri-Food and Fisheries Information Service (SIAP), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), relevant results were obtained where it was identified that the largest buyers and trading partners of this product are Mexico, the United States of America and China, the latter being the main competitor of pecan nuts in the international market, despite the fact that Mexico's competitiveness It has increased in recent years
