The paper deals with the issues of LGBTIphobia and consequent lack of social and legal equality of this population. Its relevance is due to the condition of disrespect under which the minority survives, being marginalized by society and having their deaths often naturalized. The pretension is to analyze how the scenario is shaped to keep such a population invisible. Therefore, a cut is made to analyze the institutionalization of prejudice in federal universities, in this case the Federal University of Ouro Preto. It presents the entry of the freshman and acceptance requirements to integrate the federal republics of Ouro Preto; then the analysis of the institutionalization of LGBTIphobia and its consequences for the people is presented, and finally, how and why the invisibilization of difference is so effective. It is a research under the legal-descriptive method having as reference the concept of equality as diversity of Alexandre Bahia.
