This study aims to see the effect of the rupiah exchange rate on imported commodity inflation, both long and short term. The data used is monthly time series data from January 2014-April 2018. The method applied for this analysis is Erorr Corection Models. The results obtained from this study, the rupiah exchange rate did not have a significant direct effect on the inflation rate, both monthly general inflation and imported commodity inflation. When there was turmoil due to the rupiah exchange rate, the adjustment value to the point of monthly general inflation balance was 75.6 percent for one month, and the remaining 24.4 percent adjusted for the following month. In other words, the influence of the rupiah exchange rate on general inflation was only felt for two months. While the adjustment of inflation of imported commodities (rice, beef, noodles, garlic, cooking oil, gasoline, BBRT, cars, motorbikes) when there is a shock to the rupiah exchange rate will return to balance for 1 to 2 months. The rupiah exchange rate only had a significant long-term effect on good inflation. General inflation had an effect of 48.44% and inflation on imported commodities (the effect of rice inflation was 31.66%, beef inflation 42.4%, inflation noodles 41.48%, garlic inflation 36.8%, inflation of cooking oil 29.3%, gasoline inflation 61.11%, BBRT 35.8%, car inflation 45.4%, and motorcycle inflation 44.7%).
