Background & Aim: Given that creativity is something acquired depending on personality, so knowing personality differences can help us to identify and educate creative people. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between personality type and creativity in students of Neka branch of Islamic Azad University. Methods: This research was a descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population of the study included all students of the Azad University of Neka in 2015 with 2400 people. The sample size was estimated to be 331 people using Krejcie and Morgan tables. The samples were selected by "stratified random sampling" method. Data collection was done using Eysenck personality questionnaire and Abedi creativity. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis by SPSS software. Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the students' outsourced personality type and the creativity and its components (expansion, fluidity, flexibility, and initiative) (p<0.001). The expansion with 0.49 and the flexibility with 0.25 had the highest and lowest shares respectively among the components of creativity. Conclusion: The findings showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the outsourced personality type and the students' creativity meaning that personality type, as an attribute, can facilitate creativity. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare educational authorities to hear new thoughts and strengthen their new ideas constantly to promote the students' academic achievements.
