O objeto de estudo desse trabalho e a mesorregiao do Sertao de Pernambuco, a partir do qual foram selecionados doze municipios que abrangem todas as microrregioes do Sertao e apresentam uma boa distribuicao espacial da area de estudo. Como metodologia, foram utilizados dados mensais de precipitacao da quadra chuvosa do sertao pernambucano, que compreende os meses de janeiro a abril, do periodo de 1962 a 2012. Esses dados foram totalizados ano a ano, nos meses correspondentes acima, e, comparados entre si. Os resultados mostraram que o ano de 2012 se apresenta entre os menos chuvosos de toda a serie, ficando entre o 1o e o 6° ano mais seco em todos os dez municipios, durante os 52 anos estudados. Os resultados mostram tambem que, na maioria dos dez municipios estudados, o total de precipitacao do ano de 2012 foi menor do que em anos de El Nino, o que o classifica como um ano literalmente seco. Conclui-se, portanto, que o ano de 2012 ja apresenta uma escassez hidrica, com os totais mensais de precipitacao abaixo da media, fator esse que causa graves impactos a agricultura local e abastecimento de agua, afetando dessa forma a saude e qualidade de vida da populacao. Observed Climate Trends in Rainy Season in the Sertao of Pernambuco ABSTRACT The study object of this work is the middle region of the backlands of Pernambuco, from which ten cities were selected covering all the regions of the Hinterland and have a good spatial distribution of the study area. The methodology we used monthly precipitation data of the block wet the interior of Pernambuco, which covers the months January to April, the period 1962-2012. These data were aggregated from year to year, in the corresponding months above and compared. The results showed that the year 2012 is presented among the least rainfall in the entire series, getting in between the 1st and 6th driest year in all ten counties, during the 52 years studied. The results also show that in most of the ten cities studied, the total rainfall of 2012 was lower than in El Nino years, which ranks as one year literally dry. It follows therefore that the year 2012 already has a water shortage, with total monthly rainfall below average, a factor that could cause serious impacts on local agriculture and water supply, thus affecting the health and quality of life population.
