The present work belongs to the Brazilian historiographical field, and its object is Boris Fausto's historical production between the last years of the 60's and the first half of the 70's specially his doctorate and habilitation theses "1930: historiografia e história" (1969), published with the title "A Revolução de 1930: historiografia e história" (1970); and "O trabalhador urbano e o conflito social na República oligárquica (1890-1920)" (1975), published with the title "Trabalho urbano e conflito social" (1976). The goal of this Fausto's texts analysis is to understand them as the same way as proposed by Michel de Certeau (2006), like a combination products resulted from a social place, a scientific practice and a writing. Reach this objective allows a double reflection about Boris Fausto's writing and his immersion in the historical studies, debating, at the same time, particularly aspects of the historiographical field which was projecting, in that years, the Brazilian universities as the primordial places to the construction of historical knowledge.
