Given great importance traditionally, rural dwellings reflect the most striking examples of environment-human interaction. These environmentally compatible swellings are the most important concrete cultural elements of rural characteristics of settlements. Although these traditional dwellings are important part of culture, today they only continue as places that only old people live in. Moreover, with the development of technology, these dwellings are changing with the reinforcements of concrete building materials and lose their traditionalism. For this reason, the focus of the study will be the rural dwelling culture of the Karaisalı district and the effect of natural environment and human elements on the building of these dwellings. In this study, Karaisalı’s traditional rural dwellings are examined with cultural, ecological and physical environment elements and economic functions.
