Vocational schools greatly affect the economic, social and cultural structure of the region where they are established. The schools contribute to the region in terms of employment besides education and training activities. Furthermore, the expenditures of the students will have positive effects on consumption and thus economic activities in the region. Vocational schools especially in developing regions play a major role in the economic development of the region. In this study, the effects of students studying at Selçuk University Taskent Vocational School in Konya province on regional development are examined. In the research carried out on students studying in 2016-2017, it was revealed that one student spent an average of 650 ₺ per month and this contributes about 162,500 ₺ per month in total to the region’s economy.
