The aim of this study is to reveal the opinions of the students studying in Turkish Education and Music Education Departments about the use of idioms and proverbs in Turkish pop music songs. Qualitative research method was used and the data was collected by a semi-structured interview form. The participants of the study consisted of students studying in the Department of Turkish Education and Music Education in Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in the spring semester of 2018-2019 academic year. A semi-structured interview form consisting of 9 open-ended questions prepared by the researcher was used to determine the students’ ideas about the use of idioms and proverbs in Turkish pop music songs. The content analysis technique was used in the evaluation of the data obtained and the findings were grouped under 9 main themes. According to the results 1 Bu makale; “Türk Pop Müziğinde Deyim ve Atasözü Kullanımına Yönelik Bir Değerlendirme” adlı yüksek lisans tezinden türetilmiştir. In addition, 65,625% of the students think that idioms and 21.875% of students think that proverbs can be taught more easily through Turkish pop music songs.
