Amac: Saglikli yasam davranisi gelistirme konusunda en onemli adim riskli yasam davranislarindan kacinmaktir. Bu calisma, alkol ve madde bagimlilarinin saglikli yasam bicimi davranislarini belirlemek ve onlara bu konuda egitim vererek, verilen egitimin saglikli yasam davranislari uzerine etkisini arastirmak amaciyla planlanmistir. Gerec ve Yontem: Arastirma, Ege Universitesi Bagimlilik Biriminde yapilmistir. Arastirmanin yurutulmesi icin gerekli izinler alinmis ve calisma gonullulerle gerceklestirilmistir.  Calismaya, DSM-IV tani olcutlerine gore alkol/madde bagimliligi tanisi alip yatarak tedavi goren 33 hasta alinmistir. Hastalara egitim oncesinde, sosyodemografik veri anketi, saglikli yasam bicimi davranislari olcegi uygulanmistir. Her hafta bir oturum olmak uzere, bir bucuk saatlik toplam 4 oturumdan olusan psikoegitim programi uygulanmistir. Egitimler tamamlandiktan bir ay sonra saglikli yasam bicimi davranisi olcegi tekrar uygulanmis ve egitim oncesi ile karsilastirilmistir. Veriler SPSS 15 paket programiyla analiz edilmistir. Bulgular: Bireylerin saglikli yasam bicimi davranisi olcegi toplam puaninin, kendini gerceklestirme, saglik sorumlulugu, egzersiz, beslenme, kisiler arasi destek ve stres yonetimi alt olcegi puanlarinin son olcumlerde artmis oldugu gorulmustur. Tum olcekler icin on-test ve son-test arasindaki puan farki istatistiksel acidan anlamlidir (p<0.01). Sonuc: Bagimlilarin saglikli secimler yapabilmeleri saglanmali, saglik profesyonelleri tarafindan uygun saglik egitim girisimleri gelistirilmelidir. ABSTRACT Background: The main factor for developing healthy lifestyle behavior is avoiding risky lifestyle behaviors. This study has been planned to determine the healthy life-style behaviors of alcohol-substance dependents and to assess the effects of a psychoeducation program on it. Methods: The study was conducted in Ege University Dependency Unit. The research was conducted in accordance with ethical principles and volunteers. The sample consisted of 33 inpatients fulfilling DSM-IV criteria of alcohol/substance dependence. Health Promoting life-style profile questionnaire was used before and 1 month after 4 sessions (each session 1,5 hour, 1 week a part) of psychoeducation education program. The results was compared by using SPSS 15 program. Results: The total scores and subscales scores which are self-actualization scores, health responsibility scores, exercise, nutrition scores, interpersonal support scores and stress management scores of health promoting life-style profile were increased after the education. A statistically significant difference was found between pretest and retest scores (p<0.01). Conclusions: Dependents should be empowered to make healthy choices, and appropriate health education interventions should be developed by health professionals.
